Thanks to the Institute KULT, funds for young people in Banja Luka have been doubled

Today, the General Director of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, Jasmin Bešić, and the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, signed an agreement on cooperation, which will enable twice as much funds for youth organizations. A total of 60,000 BAM, instead of the current 30,000 BAM, are available to youth organizations in Banja Luka.

“I am glad that the City of Banja Luka is part of this project, which will provide more funds for youth organizations, which will certainly contribute to improving the quality of life of young people in our community,” said Stanivuković, thanking the Institute for recognizing Banja Luka as a local community that successfully cooperates with young people.

Sixty thousand BAM will be awarded to youth organizations, whose projects are aimed at improving the position of young people in Banja Luka, in order to implement the existing youth policy of the City of Banja Luka.

“This cooperation is extremely important, given that youth organizations from the Banja Luka area nurture a long tradition of existence, and the City of Banja Luka certainly has a functional space of the Youth Center, and has very good cooperation with youth organizations,” said Jasmin Bešić, the director general of the Institute for Youth Development KULT.

The goal is to increase the transparency of spending, provide young people with a better environment and greater opportunities, as well as establish a model for financing NGOs, so that they can contribute in a targeted and measurable way to solving youth problems in local communities and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, the Institute together with the City of Banja Luka will work on improving the process of allocating funds for organizations, in order to improve the quality of life of young people in the local community.

A public call for projects for young people will be announced in May, which will be supported by the Institute and the City of Banja Luka from this fund, which speaks of the need and importance of the initiative.

In order for local self-government units in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive support for establishing a model for financing non-governmental organizations dealing with youth issues, Banja Luka, together with three other local communities – Teslic, Tuzla and Ilidza, was selected to participate in this project.

These activities are part of the Capacity Building Works initiative, supported by the Swiss Government and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
