Today, Director General of the Institute for Youth Development KULT Jasmin Besic and Mayor of Teslic Milan Milicevic signed a partnership agreement, which will provide 60,000 BAM for projects of youth organizations in the Municipality.

“We are uniting funds, 30,000 BAM provided by the Teslic Municipality and 30,000 provided by the Institute. With this, we want to improve the procedures for allocating public funds to youth organizations, help implement the youth policy in accordance with the Law on Youth Organizations of the Republika Srpska. We want to encourage implementation, but also support youth organizations that will contribute to improving the position of young people in this Municipality”, said Jasmin Bešić, Director General of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, after signing the contract.

In addition to awarding grants to youth organizations, within the signed contract, other activities are planned related to the assessment and capacity building of youth organizations through various seminars, trainings, but also on everything that young people need. The Mayor of Teslic, Milan Milicevic, thanked the Institute for their support.

“Now is the opportunity for the support of the Institute to enable even more funds that we will allocate to young people this year. Youth organizations will apply for this project. The signing was also attended by representatives of youth organizations, who are especially pleased with the opportunity to implement their projects, which they would not be able to do without funds.

“This is a good opportunity for the development of the youth sector in Teslic, which is on an upward trajectory, and for the development of the capacity of local organizations working with young people,” said Marko Loncar from the Teslic Youth Club.

In order for local governments in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive support for establishing a funding model for NGOs working on youth issues, four local communities were selected to participate in the project. So far, they have signed an agreement with the representatives of Teslic, Banja Luka. On Monday, April 25, a contract will be signed with the City of Tuzla. The fourth local community to be financially supported is the Ilidža Municipality.

These activities are part of the Capacity Building Works initiative, supported by the Swiss Government and implemented by the Institute for Youth Development KULT.
