The Krajina village of Preodac is located at the very border of the municipalities of Bosansko Grahovo, Glamoč and Drvar, that is, on the thirtieth kilometer of the road from Bosanski Grahovo to Glamoč.
This beautiful village is located in an idyllic oasis of nature on the vast northwestern slopes of the high mountain Šator, and the altitude of Preoc is about 860 meters.
Next to the river Unac, which is clean and clear throughout its course, this area has become widely known for its many clear springs and streams of clean water.
During the twentieth century, and even earlier, the houses in Preoac were built near the Vrela water source, of which there are over 300 in this area, and as such the village of Preoac is, due to its geographical position and natural beauty, the glacial lake on Mount Šator called “Mountain Eye”. , in 1976, declared among the most beautiful villages in Europe.
Today, after a war that did not pass by this region, the life of returnees has become impossible.
The road infrastructure on the route Bosansko Grahovo – Preodac – Rore, such as regional road R-409, is not paved, i.e. is under construction, and is not finished, i.e. the construction of the said road was suspended back in 1990.
Returnees in the village of Preodac in autumn and winter conditions, due to heavy rains and large amounts of snow, find it difficult to get to the clinic and family doctor, as well as basic food.
In addition to such poor infrastructure, from August 2024, the forestry contractors of the company “Poljani” doo from Bosanski Grahov and “Gradel” doo from Drvar, together with the forestry company from Bosanski Grahov, which is part of ŠGD “Hercegbosanska šume” doo Kupresa, were felling and extracting forest assortments (roundwood) and blocked the regional road R-409 through Strmac in the direction of Preoca, and the same in the length of two (2) kilometers is impassable because the same road was used by heavy machines every day to extract the felled forest.
Please note that numerous springs near the construction site (stockyard) are cloudy and the water is not for the use of citizens.
Citizens – returnees and the local community of Preodac, reported the blockade of the regional road in the Strmac district, which lasts more than three (3) months, in written submissions to the Federal Forestry Inspectorate in Sarajevo, the Cantonal Inspectorate of HBŽ in Livno, and the mayor of Bosanski Grahovo.
The office of the local community in Preoac, in a written request, requested the implementation of team expertise on the condition of the blocked regional road Bosansko Grahovo – Preodac – Rore, as well as the damage caused by the aforementioned blockade to returning citizens to the village of Preodac.
We hope that after receiving this notice, the Federal and Cantonal Inspectorates will take all necessary legal measures and solve the problem of the residents of the Preodac Local Community.
