The Pomozi.ba Association opens a new chapter in its activities with the opening of the “House of Good”

(Sarajevo, October 14, 2021) Today, in the Sarajevo neighborhood Kovačići, at the address Šaćira Sikirića 8, with Pomozi.ba friends and partners, the “House of Good” was opened.

Our wish is that the symbolically named Pomozi.ba “House of Good” to be a gathering place for friends, partners, socially responsible companies and individuals, all who help people and communities. A place where we will find good solutions in synergy with each other, learn from each other, initiate sustainable solutions and initiate actions whose ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life of people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A place from which we will strategically direct the wish of people to give their contribution, not only with money, but also with their knowledge, talent, effort and volunteer engagement“, said Elvir Karalić, President of the Pomozi.ba Association.

On the opening day, the President of the Pomozi.ba Association signed Cooperation Agreements with representatives of three associations that provide useful services for our fellow citizens in need, namely Magdalena Schildknecht, Executive Director of the Association for the Promotion of Social Solidarity “Srce za bližnje”, Zlatan Jovanović, President of the Association for Research, Education and Psychosocial Support “Tavan” and Lejla Brulić, Director of the Social Welfare Institution “Hilfswerk House of Support”.

We are already working with numerous associations and organizations and will continue to encourage the connection of humanitarians from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond in order to improve existing actions or create new ways to help someone or do something useful for everyone,” said Gena-Sanja Handžar, project manager of Pomozi.ba “House of Good.” Handžar also presented the new Pomozi.ba project “Dobrota na kvadrat”. “Dobrota na kvadrat is an ecological sewing room where we sew new useful items from discarded textiles, and we try to include volunteers in the whole process, but also people in need who, after the training, can earn some funds for their household budget.” She also added that the Pomozi.ba department for medical treatment assistance is located in the “House of Good”, as well as a counseling center for psychological support to users. “In the afternoon and evening, and even on weekends, the “House of Good” will be open to other associations that may not have enough space, and need to have a meeting, workshop, educational activities for its members or users,” concluded Handžar.

Furnishing and the first activities in the “House of Good” were supported by Pomozi.ba friends – Swiss Barakah Charity.
