Yesterday, a large landslide occurred after blasting in the quarry of the Mostar company HP Investing near the settlement of Bijela, i.e. right next to the main road M-17.
More precisely, on April 6, around 6:30 p.m., a large amount of rock was triggered by a landslide due to the blasting of the quarry, and during the blasting of one part of the quarry, another part also broke off, which caused a large amount of rock falls that ended up in the river.
Huge amounts of material fell into the canyon of Mostarska Bijela, where three cars were buried, while two people were slightly injured. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
The investigation into the accident caused by a landslide that occurred during the blasting of a part of the quarry in Bijela near Mostar, in which two people were injured and several vehicles were damaged, continued this morning.
Environmental activists demand answers to questions and responsibility from the HNK Prosecutor’s Office, which should file indictments against those responsible in this case.
“The Prosecutor’s Office of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the investigation should provide answers to a number of questions and result in the filing of indictments”, say the activists of the Foundation Studio for Social Changes – ACT , a member of the Coalition for the Protection of Rivers of BiH .
