MUSLIM AID ASSOCIATION IMPLEMENTED THE FIRST PART OF THE BEEKEEPING PROJECT

The Muslim Aid Association started the implementation of a large beekeeping project last year. The project is implemented in the Jajce and Hadžići Municipalities and the City of Livno. The project aims to empower all stakeholders involved in the beekeeping sector in rural communities with the aim of initiating social and material activities that will result in the comprehensive development of local communities.

Through the allocation of bee colonies with complete equipment for beekeeping, 30 novice beekeepers and beekeepers have been economically empowered. Thematic practical and theoretical educations influenced the increase of the level of knowledge and skills of beekeepers in 3 selected cities where the project is implemented. In addition, the project activities seek to raise awareness of the importance of beekeeping.

Beekeeping associations are technically and technologically strengthened through the allocation of process equipment for filling honey and making hourly bases. The importance of the allocated equipment is manifold, as over 1000 beekeepers from the narrower and wider regions of the project implementation will have access to it.

In the next period, the implementation of the second part of the project is planned, which includes the development of marketing activities related to protection and branding of honey at the local level of the project application, organization of fairs to promote local beekeepers, beekeepers and beekeeping associations as sustainable agricultural branches and tackling modern challenges in beekeeping and the importance of bees for the ecosystem.

The project is implemented with the support of donors Muslim Aid USA and Muslim Aid Sweden and partners Jajce, Hadžići Municipalities and the City of Livno. LINK FOR VIDEO: https://fb.watch/aMM3ZLvGn3/
