Citizens’ Initiative “Ko će više? #uraditidobra” announced a cleaning action at the southern entrance to Mostar, which will take place on Saturday, March 20, starting at 1 p.m.
After Adi Đukić from Mostar, on Facebook, published the idea and invitation for everyone to take collective action and solve problems in the community that can be easily solved, the response was extremely successful.
Thus, the first problem was identified and the first action was agreed, it was announced from the Citizens’ Initiative “Ko će više? #uraditidobra”.
“After strong winds, the remains of plastic bags have accumulated again on the bushes and branches in the localities of Bišća polje – near Dolina sunca, Klas, FIS, the surroundings of the Aviator Bridge and Rodoča. On Saturday at 1 pm, after the Mostar Half Marathon, the citizens will start cleaning the previously mentioned locations and do what they can to remove the plastic bags”, announced the Initiative.
The organizers of the cleaning action invited all interested individuals to participate in this environmental action, which will be carried out in full compliance with epidemiological measures.
“All participants should bring gloves and come in thick clothing because there is a possibility that the bushes have thorns. Those who have agricultural scissors should bring them. In order for cleaning not to be in vain, it is worth paying attention to the proper disposal of plastic bags and similar waste so that stronger winds do not scatter the bags again and ‘decorate’ the city in a negative way, and that businesses should have special storage for plastic bags and carton,” they said from the Initiative.
All interested individuals can come at 1 pm to one of the following locations: Dolina sunca (starting place: flag at the market), Klas (both sides of the road, starting place: flag near the company Klas), surroundings of Fis (starting place: flag near the entrance to Fis), surroundings of the Aviator Bridge (starting place: flag at Gazprom gas station), Rodoč (kolonija) – area along the road (starting place: flag at the roundabout in Rodoč).
Organizers invite companies, schools and city institutions to support this action as well.
In case of bad weather or unforeseen events, the cleaning action will be postponed for seven days.
