United Nations Population Fund UNFPA call for Young Peer Peacebuilders

This opportunity will allow the selected young people to receive free and certified training in peer peacebuilding methodology with their expenses fully covered. UNFPA will hire the best participants to replicate this training in 2023 as consultants

What are we offering?

A free and certified training for a group of 20 young people (18-30 years old) based on the Youth Peer Peacebuilding Manual that UNFPA developed alongside UNDP divided in five (5) modules i. intercultural dialogue, ii. Hate speech, iii. Understanding conflict, violence, and Peace, iv. Conflict transformation, v. Facilitation skills plus a conclusion. It aims to equip young people with:

–      Knowledge of key concepts related to peacebuilding and conflict transformation;

–      Values, attitudes, and beliefs that support youth participation in peacebuilding, based on diversity, inclusion, and human rights;

–      Tools and techniques for analyzing, responding to, and preventing conflict situations;

–      Facilitation and training skills for delivering non-formal peer education activities;

–      Sensitivity and know-how for engaging youth of diverse backgrounds and identities, including vulnerable, marginalized, and hard-to-reach youth.

The course will give the opportunity to the participants to become youth peer peacebuilding experts and the best participants will be hired by UNFPA as consultants in pairs to gather a group of another 20 participants to replicate 2023 the same training by their own means. All Bosnian citizens between 18 to 30 years old are encouraged to apply, special attention will be given to young people coming from rural areas, women/girls, persons with disabilities, Roma, and LGBTIQ+ communities.

This training will be developed under the project named “Strengthening the role of youth in promoting increased mutual understanding, constructive narrative, respect for diversity, and trust in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo[1]”. 

When?

The training will be conducted in two three-day courses on the weekends of 9-10-11 and 16-17-18 of December 2022. Interested participants need to be available and attend the full training in person. 

Where?

In Sarajevo (the hotel will be confirmed to the selected participants). UNFPA will assume the cost of accommodation, meals, and transportation for the selected participants.

–      How would you use arts, culture, and non-formal education to promote inter-ethnic dialogue and cooperation?

The training will be conducted in Bosnian, but English knowledge is a strong asset.
