Towards the common good: Read analyzes of the legal framework for philanthropy

Philanthropy in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a complex and fragmented area that has not been the subject of extensive analytical and advocacy activities. Therefore, the two publications published within the project “Legal Framework for Philanthropy” are a significant contribution to the understanding of this area, its study and inspiration for all who want to advocate for the improvement of the current legal and institutional framework.

The initial analysis of the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of philanthropy as well as the analysis of perceptions about it provide an insight into this complex system about which there is currently no easily available information.

Over forty laws and accompanying regulations that directly or indirectly regulate this area, as well as the activities of humanitarian, charitable and philanthropic organizations reflect the complex and asymmetrically decentralized political system of Bosnia and Herzegovina in which the practice of different levels of government or institutions is not harmonized.

  • You can read comments on laws, examples from practice and much more in two electronic publications titled “Towards the common good“.
  • You can also download the publications by clicking the Download button (in the upper right corner of the publication).
