The construction of the WTC in Sarajevo will begin next year, at the same time a business club is being established and a technology conference is being prepared

We have the opportunity to bring tremendous potential to Bosnia and Herzegovina, provide an opportunity for quality jobs, build a beautiful facility, bring congress tourism to Bosnia and Herzegovina, start new jobs,  Zoran Puljić, president of the WTC Supervisory Board, said in an interview with Hayat TV  . and the director of the Mozaik foundation on the World Trade Center project in Sarajevo, in which this foundation is one of the co-investors.

He announced the beginning of the implementation of the project next year on two levels.

– One is the physical construction of the building, and the other is the services that WTC provides. We will start providing services as early as next year by establishing a business club that will bring together small and medium-sized enterprises from Sarajevo and BiH with small and medium-sized enterprises from 90 countries around the world. That is our focus and primary mission. The second is that next year we plan an advanced technological conference or forum  that we link with investments with the ambition that we too be leaders in robotics or artificial intelligence because we have great young people. These are high-quality jobs and we will start that from next year – confirmed Puljić, noting that  the construction of the building will also start next year  in relation to the adoption of a decision on the regulatory plan, which is expected soon and on which the start of work on the building itself depends.

Answering the question about the location of the future WTC, which caused great interest, but also some controversy in the public, Puljić explains:

– I follow the media and sometimes I am surprised by the amount of wrong and inaccurate information that is placed in the public, such as the fact that  a huge building is being built on the Wilson Promenade,  which is not true. We are building on the side of Ulica Zmaja od Bosna, that is, the part where the tram passes, on a completely different side. Another thing mentioned is that 20 floors are being built which is also not true. The highest floor height of the two towers is 12 floors, while the other parts will be ground floor plus five, ground floor plus nine, etc. It’s very important that we break up that building for airflow. Like some of our citizens, because I live here, I am also concerned about the air and pollution. This building is not located within the wind corridor and is at the height of the Raifeisen building on one side, and the Faculty of Science on the other. It will be done in cascade so that there will be no blockages, and we know that the key sources of pollution in Sarajevo are fire pits and cars. Of course, as a citizen of Sarajevo, I am worried like everyone else, but this building is not a reason for that kind of concern – said Puljić, adding that all previous criticisms are unfounded and perhaps even malicious:

He noted that the Mozaik Foundation was recognized by the global association of private donors as one of the most innovative foundations in Europe.

– We are thinking about how to help Bosnia and Herzegovina enter an economy that is driven by knowledge, and not an economy that is driven by coal. We offer two things here, the first is that by investing our foundation money, we have been preparing for the last ten years to invest in the WTC because it is a good return on investment, and the second, just as important, is part of the transformation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. society. Young people will only stay here if they have well-paid jobs. I see young people leaving, and the only way for doctors and the like to return to Bosnia and Herzegovina and stay here is quality jobs, and that’s why we brought WTC here. This is a wonderful idea because this is not only economic, this is a transformational project for Bosnia and Herzegovina in moments when we might be disappointing the EU and when it has left us a little – emphasized Puljić.
