The Confucius Institute’s branch will be opened in Doboj

The director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, Ljiljana Stević, announced the opening of a branch of the Confucius Institute in Doboj.

Stević told reporters that today’s visit to the City Administration of Doboj is a continuation of the cooperation that has lasted for two years.

– The Confucius Institute is present at the High School Center in Doboj. In cooperation with the School of Economics, Chinese language classes have been held for two years – said Stević. On September 23, a prize quiz will be organized in cooperation with this institution.

She stated that the implementation of the already announced project of opening the Doboj branch of the Confucius Institute was discussed at the meeting, for which the Institute have already applied for funds in China.

– The office will be independent and have a direct connection with China – said Stević and added that the possibility of organizing student internships and learning the Chinese language in some of the Chinese companies in Doboj was considered.

Director of the School of Economics Tijana Vasiljević Stokić said that a meeting was held today with representatives of the Chinese company Sinopharm, which is engaged in the construction of a new hospital in the Doboj settlement of Usora, with which it was agreed that from next school year students studying Chinese will be able to do the internship.

The Vice President of the Assembly of the City of Doboj, Miloš Bukejlović, said that a lot has been done on cultural cooperation in the past two years, with an emphasis on language studying.
