ROMACTED is a key program of the Council of Europe, whose goal is to improve and strengthen the position of Roma at the local level. Through this program, the Council of Europe provides support to cities like Visoko that want to improve the integration of Roma into society. The specific goal in this case is to improve infrastructure and living standards in local communities where Roma live, which directly contributes to a better quality of their life.
The city of Visoko has been granted funds for the preparation of design and technical documentation for the construction of fecal and storm sewers, as well as the rehabilitation of the road through the Muhašinovići settlement, along with the construction of a treatment plant. The design and technical documentation includes the construction of approx. 5,111.4 meters of sewage (fecal and storm water), rehabilitation of the road in the length of approx. 3,091 meters.
In the following period, the competent City Service will initiate the procedure to collect the necessary consents for obtaining approval for construction. The realization of this project brings many benefits for the local population, including improvement of sanitary conditions, protection of the environment and increase of traffic safety. Through the construction of a precise plan and the implementation of adequate sewage systems, the City of Visoko shows its commitment to sustainable development and improving the quality of life of its citizens. This project not only solves the issue of fecal and storm sewers, but also creates a basis for future development projects and attracting investments to the city. It is expected that this project will have long-term positive effects on the economic, social and environmental development of the city. Involvement in the ROMACTED program represents an important step towards regional cooperation and the exchange of best practices in the field of infrastructure development.
