FBiH: Locked prices for 60 products

From March 15, the second wave of the voluntary project of the Federal Ministry of Trade, traders, producers, consumers and trade unions “We lock in prices” will start and will last until June 16 of this year.

The list of products with a reduced and locked price has been expanded from 40 to 60 products, the Federal Ministry of Trade announced.

As they announced earlier, the new list also includes products used by celiac and diabetes sufferers. Namely, at the proposal of the association of these groups, the traders met and lowered the prices for four products for a special diet and locked them in for the next three months.

The project, which started on December 15, 2023, was deemed successful, the ministry said, adding that customers could save about 15 to 20 percent on this basket of products.

The manufacturers assessed that there was a significant increase in interest in the products they included in this basket, and they were also additionally engaged to participate in the continuation of the project.

In the first part of this project, consumers pointed out the problem of insufficiently transparent labeling of products at certain retailers.

That is why, in order to standardize and unify advertising, it was agreed that the poster with the items that are part of the project “Locking the prices” and on which the photo of the product, the previous retail price and the locked price, should be in A1 format, and the catalog duplicate size 210×274 mm.

In addition, an agreement was reached that supermarket and hypermarket commercial facilities within the facility would set aside a corner called “We lock prices” where, for the convenience of customers, there would be products with locked prices in one place, excluding those products that cannot be displayed in that way on the shelf (meat, cream, cheese,…), it is stated in the announcement.
