The Association Network for Building Peace and the Institute for Youth Development KULT officialized cooperation

In March, 2021, partners within the USAID Snaga lokalnog Program, which in Bosnia and Herzegovina supports local organizations in creating and nurturing more sustainable “self-help mechanisms,” especially in areas where such mechanisms are not easily accessible, the Association Network for Building Peace and the Institute for Youth Development KULT held a joint meeting in compliance with the epidemiological measures. The meeting was an opportunity for representatives of these two organizations to exchange experiences and discuss plans and mutual support regarding further implementation of the Snaga lokalnog Project, working conditions in the circumstances of the pandemic, and challenges faced by both organizations and staff working on the Project.

During the five-year period, the Institute for Youth Development KULT will work in a comprehensive way on the capacity building of civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Šeherzada Halimić and Samir Mahmić, representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT, explained that KULT will work on capacity building through trainings, mentoring support, development and improvement of tools for capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of organizations, providing visibility and promotion and additional networking. The Network for Building Peace will work on capacity building of local communities and organizations to independently address key and relevant development challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to include and network all existing and new initiatives aimed at local community development. Snježana Ivandić Ninković and Minel Abaz, representatives of the Network for Building Peace, reminded that over the next five years the Peacebuilding Network will make a key contribution through the establishment and management of the web platform www.snagalokalnog.ba which will enable the exchange of information between different actors, strengthen relations and influences within civil society, public and local institutions and the business sector and enable the establishment of initiatives related to the development of local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Activities of the Snaga lokalnog Project will strive to involve all members of the Network for Building Peace, other NGOs in BiH, formal and informal groups of citizens, citizens, activists, institutions and businesses that want to become drivers of change in their communities by working on improvement of existing social processes and protect natural environment.
