Recognized key weaknesses and problems of young people, which will be the goal of programs and measures in the strategy towards young people of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Activities continued to ensure a programmatic approach to action towards young people in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to improve their position by identifying key problems and challenges that will be recognized through the  strategy towards young people of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2024-2027.

The work teams mapped the weaknesses, which were analyzed in detail, and based on that, they created solutions and desired results that will open up new perspectives that are crucial for the development of young people and their participation in all social processes.

The most important conclusions that will serve as a basis for further work and activities are that in the field of culture, sports and ecology, it is necessary to develop new legal frameworks and improve programs that will provide young people with additional support and opportunities for development, such as Youth Transfer. Full implementation of the FBiH Law on Youth is recognized as key for the inclusion of young people in decision-making processes, and among the goals is the development of new approaches in working with young people.

In all thematic areas, it was identified that it is necessary to develop appropriate information systems as well as youth education. In the field of security, due to numerous social challenges, the working team sees  the improvement of cyber security  of young people in the digital space as a priority. Taking into account the results of research on the position and needs of young people, which show that  over 50% of young girls  in FBiH have never had a gynecological examination or did not want to answer this question, members of the working team were dedicated to proposing a program for the prevention and protection of reproductive health of young people and the development “youth friendly” approach in the provision of health services.

The members of the work teams and all involved actors through various thematic areas tried to recognize the needs of young people in order to work together in the continuation of the process to create new opportunities for this population in the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was pointed out that it is especially important for young people to apply principles such as involving young people in decision-making processes at all levels as well as providing equal opportunities and rights to all young people in all areas of activity.

The Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is involved in all activities through participation in work teams for thematic areas, which respects the views and opinions of young people from the Federation, who operate through numerous youth associations that make up youth councils at the local level.

The bearer of the initiative to create a strategy for the youth of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is  the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports  in partnership with  the Institute for Youth Development KULT  and  the Youth Council of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina .
