Today, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton published the first public call for the implementation of the Small Business Development Program for 2022.

On the website of the Ministry, at the link: https://mp.ks.gov.ba/aktuelno/konkursi/javni-poziv-za-izbor-bankebanaka-partnera-za-plasman-kreditne-linije-uz-0, public call to commercial banks from the area of the Sarajevo Canton for the implementation of the program “Ensuring lending under favorable conditions” was published, i.e. the placement of a credit line with subsidized interest for businesses from the area of the Sarajevo Canton.

The public call is open for 30 days, and the Ministry expects that this year commercial banks will also show social responsibility and be partners of the Ministry of Economy in the implementation of the program, through which almost 110 million BAM was distributed by the public call from 2021.

“We have published a call for the selection of banks/partners for the implementation of a program that includes a credit line, that is, a line with one hundred percent subsidized interest. It is the most valuable program, for which businesses showed great interest during the previous year. We expect that the banks will accept our criteria and this year also enter into a partnership with us, because this program enables the expansion of production and the strengthening of the competitiveness of our economy, and we all have a common interest in a strong economy”, said the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Delic.

Minister Delic also stated that last year’s credit line was open until September 30, and that after the completion of this public call and the procedures that go with it, the Ministry’s credit lines for 2022 will be opened immediately.

“Our wish was for the credit line to be open throughout the year, and we are happy that we have achieved that this year. As in previous years, we expect more than 100 million BAM of the total value of the credit line, and the Ministry has secured five million BAM to cover the interest costs for business entities that use this credit line,” explained Minister Delic.

He pointed out that the individual criteria, that is, the activities of business entities, have been significantly relaxed/expanded, and that accordingly, a significantly larger number of business entities will have access to these funds.
