Meeting with representatives of the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD) was held in order to improve cooperation between the governmental and non-governmental sector in the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo

Mayor of Municipality of Novo Sarajevo dr. Hasan Tanović held a meeting with the director of the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD), Aida Daguda, in order to improve cooperation between the governmental and non-governmental sector, as well as implementation and realization of future joint projects.

Director Daguda pointed out that the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD) has extensive experience in the development and implementation of projects funded by the EU, USAID, Sweden and other donors, and that currently, the project “Think of Nature!” within which they cooperate with a large number of environmental associations. One of them is the Association “Aarhus Center” from the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

Dajana Cvjetković, CPCD program activities manager, talked about the establishment of the Smart Resource Center. Namely, it is an educational institution for adults, accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, which provides training services for the development and implementation of projects according to the EU standards.

Mayor dr. Hasan Tanović thanked Director of the CPCD Daguda for initiating this meeting, at which both sides expressed readiness to provide professional assistance and support to this local community in order to better achieve strategic goals of the Municipality, and especially from the aspect of greater involvement of citizens in public consultations and strengthening the capacity of NGOs in the process of attracting EU funds.

“The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo is open for further cooperation when it comes to the implementation of these and similar activities, which will contribute to positive changes in this important area,” said dr. Tanović, the mayor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
