Meet great companies and individuals who do GOOD/DOBRO Award for Philanthropy

Three minutes a day for good is an initiative in which we want to introduce you to great companies and philanthropists who were awarded by the independent commission for their contribution to the community in 2020 with the DOBRO award for philanthropy. We have prepared seven videos in which we present the winners in each of the award categories. We hope that their stories will encourage you to share good stories, do good and care for the good of others because #DobroJeBitiDobar and there is always time for good.

INT BH: A small company with a big heart

Within the DOBRO Award for Philanthropy in the category of corporate philanthropy, small companies, the company INT BH d.o.o. was awarded as the best for the establishment of the Muharem Berbić Foundation, which provides financial support to community associations, scholarships to students, direct assistance to children and youth without parental care, children and youth with disabilities and socially disadvantaged families. R&S: Caring for the community is a marathon, not a 100-meter race

In the category of corporate philanthropy, medium-sized companies, the DOBRO award for philanthropy was awarded to R&S d.o.o., which in 2019 and 2020 supported 29 associations and sports clubs and awarded 13 scholarships within the program “Scholarships for a happy childhood”. BH Telecom: One million BAM for good

The DOBRO award for corporate philanthropy in the category of large companies was given to BH Telecom d.d. for their continuous support of a number of community projects. In 2020, for philanthropic activities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, BH Telecom donated 2,000,000 BAM, while in previous years it donated almost 20,000,000 BAM for different kinds of philanthropic activities in communities. In the video, they talk about their work, together with a representative of the organization Heart for the children with cancer.

dm – drogerie markt: Innovative community initiatives

The special award for innovative approach to philanthropy was awarded by the commission to dm drogerie markt d.o.o. for launching innovative philanthropic initiatives in our country such as: “TOGETHER for a better tomorrow”, project # poduzetneZAJEDNO, “Environmental initiative {TOGETHER} for a better tomorrow”, contribution to the prevention of malignant skin diseases, and many other initiatives that affirm and encourage development of philanthropy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The video also features a young entrepreneur, Edina Hadžić, co-owner of the social business Sugar on Top, which was also supported by the Startup Studio of the Mozaik Foundation.

Magdalena Schildknecht: Life’s commitment to good

The Independent Commission of the DOBRO Award for Philanthropy 2020 awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award to Magdalena Schildknecht for her long-term philanthropic contribution to children and youth in our country through the Association NARKO-NE, the program “Older Brother, Older Sister”, HKO Kruh Sv. Ante “A drop of kindness” and other philanthropic initiatives in the community. Watch the video and find out more about Sister Magdalena, as well as her contribution to the community.

Mahira and Semir Tanović: Good knows no boundaries

The DOBRO award for philanthropy was awarded for the first time to members of the diaspora from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Independent Commission awarded the prize to Mahira and Semir Tanović, a married couple from Bosnia and Herzegovina who have been supporting numerous philanthropic activities in our country from the United States for many years. Get to know them in this video, as well as one of the initiatives they have supported for many years.

Nihad Suljić: Solidarity is the foundation of every community

The youngest winner of the Good for Philanthropy Award in 2020 helps people on the move every day. Nihad is a great inspiration and an example of selfless giving to the community and the most vulnerable among us.
