The youngest, newborn residents of Sarajevo Canton, who at the same time become new members of the Sarajevo Canton Health Insurance Institute, will be given their first free electronic health cards when they first apply for insurance.
As the Director of the Institute, Muamer Kosovac, pointed out, this gesture sends a message of welcome to their youngest policyholders and confirms the commitment to support policyholders, as well as to facilitate access to rights in any way possible.
– Taking care of all categories of insured persons, including the youngest members, the Health Insurance Institute of KS proposed the Decision on fees for issuing electronic health cards, which was adopted by our board of directors. With this decision, our newborn policyholders will be exempted from paying the fee for the issuance of an electronic health card, when they first apply for health insurance in the Canton of Sarajevo – explained director Kosovac.
He reminded that the Institute also implements co-financing programs for assisted reproduction (for years already), which is why in 2022 it was a leader in securing and expanding the package of rights for married and non-marital partners who have difficulties conceiving, as well as that it allocated more than 4, 7 million KM through refunds for biomedical assisted fertilization procedures, and positively resolved 1,486 claims in favor of the insured.
