In the period from 21 – 23 June, 2021, as part of the five-year Snaga lokalnog Program supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the annual conference “Snaga lokalnog as the Local Community Progress Factor” will be held.
The conference “Snaga lokalnog as the Local Community Progress Factor” aims to connect all partners implementing the Snaga lokalnog Program: Mozaik Foundation, Institute for Youth Development KULT, Tuzla Community Foundation, Center for Civic Cooperation Livno and Network for Building Peace, with relevant actors active in local communities: representatives of non-governmental organizations active at the local level, representatives of development agencies, local media and local authorities.
The conference will be opened by Nancy J. Eslick, Mission Director at the USAID in BiH, and Nataša Maksimović, President of the Network for Building Peace Association. During the first day of the conference, participants will have the opportunity get acquainted with and discuss USAID’s work in BiH, the Snaga lokalnog Program, Snaga lokalnog components presented through the work of partner organizations, and challenges in improving local communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the first part of the conference, participants will work in groups, with the aim of answering additional inquiries about the Snaga lokalnog Program, networking, but also creating concrete ideas and initiatives for partnership between Snaga lokalnog partners and key local actors. Each working group will be a combination of representatives of partner organizations and local actors. On the first day of the conference, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the focus of each partner organization, achievements within the Snaga lokalnog Program, as well as challenges, which will provide a basis for interest, motivation, reflection, potential suggestions for improvement, but also developing the idea of networking and cooperation with partner organizations.
