The Center for Civic Cooperation from Livno in partnership with the Association of Citizens “Grahovo” from Bosansko Grahovo, within the project “Local Works – Together for Local Development” organizes training in entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and business plan writing.
One two-day training will be held in Livno for Canton 10, and the second training will be held in Posušje for Canton 8.
Trainings are organized for representatives of associations/NGOs/civil society organizations, informal groups and individuals as a motivation for starting entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship and for developing business ideas, drafting business plans with the aim of realizing the idea.
The development of entrepreneurship in the area of these two cantons opens opportunities for the establishment of small and/or medium-sized enterprises, which would significantly contribute to local development, youth employment and their stay in this area.
Support for the implementation of business plans will be granted only for social entrepreneurship and will be owned by citizens’ associations or non-governmental organizations, not individuals. These NGOs will have the opportunity to spread the entrepreneurial spirit in their communities.
The first day of the training will be organized for representatives of local stakeholders and individuals who will be able to improve their knowledge and skills on the basic elements, importance and opportunities of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship. The following topics will be discussed during the first day of training:
– What is entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship; forms, differences between traditional and social entrepreneurship;
– Institutional and legal framework of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
– Social entrepreneurship and non-governmental organizations; The importance of investing in strengthening the capacity of non-governmental organizations, as well as institutions that should systematically support social entrepreneurship and/or social enterprises and cooperatives;
– New lines for the promotion of social entrepreneurship initiatives: active involvement of the business sector and further efforts to raise the media visibility of organizations involved in social entrepreneurship;
– Examples of successful stories of non-governmental organizations targeting women, youth and people with disabilities.
The second day of training will be organized for those who have undergone basic training in order to further improve their knowledge and skills on possible issues that arise as a continuation of the first day of training, such as:
– Motivation and development of business ideas for entrepreneurship (company) and opportunities for realization of the idea;
– Market of goods and services, collection of data on the potential market and sales of products/services;
– How to establish a social enterprise or enterprise (production or service);
– Basics of social entrepreneurship, ability to take risks and responsibilities;
– Fixed working capital and financial assets;
– Development of a business plan (workshop);
– How to raise start-up funds for the implementation of the business plan.
After the trainings, interested associations/NGOs/civil society organizations will have the opportunity to finalize their business/business plan through mentoring with an expert.
At the end of the process, the Center for Civic Cooperation will financially support the implementation of a business plan and start a social enterprise (we will collect completed business plans within the agreed time and form a five-member commission/grant committee).
One association/NGO/civil society organization will be supported with $4,500. Support will be provided in the form of materials and/or equipment, services needed to prepare and start a social enterprise, i.e., implementation of the business plan. Other local actors will be invited to support the establishment of a social enterprise.
