The Network for Building Peace invites you to a panel discussion “The role of youth in the anti-fascist fight”, which will be held on May 19, 2021, starting at 18:00 on the ZOOM platform.
Despite the efforts to eradicate fascism in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we continue to witness the glorification of ideologies based on fascism, the streets, schools and student dormitories named after fascists, buildings painted with murals dedicated to convicted war criminals. The COVID-19 pandemic and the ubiquitous digital way of communicating are increasingly opening up space for hate speech and incitement to hate crimes against the other and the different. The Network for Building Peace nurtures the values of anti-fascism and anti-fascist fight, and pays special attention to the awareness and action of young generations in the fight against fascism, believing that the future is in the hands of young people. Therefore, on the occasion of Victory Day and Europe Day, which was marked on May 9, 2021, the Network for Building Peace invited and supported youth groups in organizing their artistic-activist actions.
Join us for a panel discussion and discuss with young activists from all over BiH the actions they organized to mark Victory Day over fascism, the importance of youth participation and role in the fight against fascism, and the ways in which young people and youth organizations raise awareness among their peers, but also spread the most important message on fascism, “No pasaran”.
The speakers are:
Kerim Hodžić and Rasim Kalajevac, Youth Movement Revolt
Lejla Huremović, representing the Centre for Youth KVART and O.B. BiH Pride March
