Apply to participate in a five-day workshop – political responsibility and how to demand it:
More details (briefly) about the program:
Through civic political activism, we have identified one problem – many citizens, and even elected officials, both in local and parliamentary elections, do not know much about the functioning of the state and all its levels, competencies, processes. Practically speaking, you will learn who is in charge of what, whose jurisdiction is the park, street lighting, highway, and EU integration. You will find out who to ask and who to call if you don’t like the road, if you don’t like tax policy, if your municipality pays half a million BAM to set up 10 benches in the main square of your local community.
You will also find the answer to the question: “HOW?”. How can you, as a citizen, participate, get informed, put pressure through direct communication, demand, lobby and, in the end, how to communicate with the public, if our rational and realistic expectations are not met.
Also, all participants of the workshop will be supported to transfer what they have learned to their local communities after the workshop.
Persons aged 18-35 from the Federation of BiH (workshops in Republika Srpska and Brčko District will be organized soon), active in the local communities they come from – students, high school students, employed or unemployed.
Socially engaged persons, who will initiate a civic initiative upon completion of workshops and acquired knowledge upon return to local communities.
March 10 – 15, 2021 – accepted participants will be contacted until March 03, 2021.
We will inform you about the location if you are admitted, and it is not Zoom, but we will gather in one place and, respecting all epidemiological measures, do as we used to do before the COVID-19. Of course, we cover the costs of accommodation, food and transportation.
Who is organizing the workshop?
Team gathered around the campaign “Sjašite” – Šatro.info, CAT BiH & Network of activist changes – MAP
Which topics will be mentioned during the workshop?
Get acquainted with the political system of Bosnia and Herzegovina – from the state to the locals, clarify who does what and why, who is responsible and who acts not to be responsible for something. Think of how to communicate with those who are responsible, what we can and must ask of them. Continue to communicate and implement what has been learned after the workshop.
How to apply?
Fill out the google form and send a short motivation letter in which you will tell us more about the civic initiative you plan to initiate after the workshops – tell us what needs to be fixed in your local community and how. You should send a motivation letter to email@example.com by Febrzary 28, 2021. Also, you need to fill out a short form on the following link: REGISTRATION FOR WORKSHOP # SJAŠITE.
