More about the scholarship:

Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) is a scholarship program for a one-year exchange of high school students from Bosnia and Herzegovina to spend the 2021-22 school year in the United States. Testing is open to students who are enrolled in the first or second grade of high school this school year and who were born between January 1, 2004 and July 15, 2006. The program brochure can be downloaded here.

YES is fully funded by the US State Department, and since 2008 it has been implemented by our office in Bosnia and Herzegovina (American Councils for International Education). Students who receive the scholarship will live with American host families, where they attend high school and participate in extracurricular activities to learn more about American society and values, gain leadership skills, and teach Americans about their country and culture.

The testing is open only to 1st and 2nd grade high school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina, average grade 4 or higher, and with a date of birth January 1, 2004 to July 15, 2006. Students must also be citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

** Students with disabilities attending high school can also apply for YES testing using the link above. To be eligible for this exchange program, students with disabilities must be enrolled in high school and born between February 15, 2003 to July 15, 2006. **

Also, on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, starting at 2 p.m., the American Councils Office together with EducationUSA in BiH will hold an ONLINE LIVE presentation of the YES Program as well as presentation on the programs implemented by EducationUSA.
