The Sarajevo Open Centre and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Bosnia and Herzegovina are organizing the third Feminist Economic Forum on Friday, November 6, from 12:00 to 15:00.
This year’s FEF focuses on the gender perspective of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to introduce a gender perspective into the public discourse on the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to understand that social change is not gender neutral and that it produces different consequences for women and men in our society.
The aim of the Forum is to analyze the ways in which the current pandemic contributes to the deepening of gender inequality in health, education, productive and reproductive work and domestic violence. The organizers of the Forum will, based on discussions with participants, make concrete recommendations to make future decisions of crisis headquarters and other institutions fairer and more efficient.
The key issues that will be addressed during the discussion are:
• How did the pandemic affect previously mentioned areas?
• What consequences did it have on our lives?
• Who bore the brunt of the crisis?
• Why is it important to talk about these topics from a gender perspective?
The Agenda of the Forum is available here.
Please confirm your participation by sending an email to: amina@soc.ba no later than November 4, 2020. The number of participants is limited.
