The project aims to connect young people from these two cities at the level of intercultural, interethnic and religious acceptance. The guiding idea of these two associations is that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a multicultural treasury and that it is its strength, not a reason for intolerance and non-acceptance. Young people desperately need to be given the opportunity to get to know the beauties of their homeland, meet their peers from other cities, build friendships and contribute to the improvement of their community and beyond.
In the period August 28 – 29, a gathering was organized for project participants where Mostar was the host. During these two days, the participants had the opportunity to learn about the importance of youth activism. A lecture on this topic was led by an activist Inga Kotlo. The second part of the day focused on an activity called European Railways, which aims to promote community. As part of this activity, some of the messages written by young people were: “Better love than hate”, “Let’s help those with whom we share a home”. In the continuation of the workshops, young people had the opportunity to discuss stereotypes and prejudices. Additionally, Dignitet activists Aida Kajan, Eldina Hodžić Nurkić and Edita Pajić, as hosts, introduced the guests from Prijedor to the sights of the city and its surroundings, and part of the socializing continued during the tour of the Old Bridge, Mostar mosques and the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church.
At the very end of the second working day, the representatives of Dignitet awarded a thank-you letter to the President of Psiholuminis, Mrs. Maja Savanović Zorić, wishing to continue the successful, productive cooperation in the future.
These activities were supported through USAID’s PRO-Future Reconciliation Building Project implemented by CRS with partners.
