YOUTH SUPPORT PROGRAM – Youth Fund – Public call for youth organizations and informal youth groups

The Tuzla Community Foundation (hereinafter: the Foundation) invites youth organizations and informal youth groups to submit project proposals that will enable young people to be actively involved in activities and creating content for the benefit of the community and improving the position of young people in Tuzla Canton.

In partnership with the USAID, within the “Snaga lokalnog” program, the Foundation announces a public call for financial support for youth projects in the Tuzla Canton.

The support is realized through the project “Our community is our responsibility” which aims to strengthen local organizations and local initiatives that bring citizens together and encourage them to self-organize, participate and be part of solution of specific problems in their local communities, settlements, cities and the whole country.

The total financial value set aside to support youth projects in this public call is 22,000.00 BAM.

FUND OBJECTIVES

  • Strengthen the capacity of young people in all spheres of their activities;
  • Empower young people to make independent decisions and act in the local community;
  • Strengthen the youth sector by strengthening the program and organizational capacities of youth organizations.

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Registered youth associations from Tuzla Canton (Article 4, FBIH Law on Youth, paragraph 2);
  • Informal youth groups of at least 3 members from Tuzla Canton (Article 4, Paragraph 1)

WHAT DOES THE FUND SUPPORT?

  • Innovative projects from different areas of social life that respond to the needs of the local community and which directly affect the improvement of the position of young people.
  • Projects that promote civic activism and volunteerism based on the voluntary engagement of applicants.
  • Projects that are aimed at solving a specific problem or meeting a specific need in the community.
  • Projects that last from 1 month to 1 year.
  • The grant amount per project can range from 500.00 BAM to 2,000.00 BAM.

NOTE: The funds from this Public Call do not include the costs of value added tax, VAT. All legal entities that receive these funds can exercise the right to a VAT refund through the Indirect Taxation Authority. According to the above, applicants are required to provide the values ​​of goods without VAT.

WHAT PROJECTS DO WE SUPPORT?

According to the results of the Vital Signs 2019 research, we will give priority to projects that are in line with the priority needs of local communities in Tuzla Canton, and the challenges at the global level defined by the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals. We want to support projects that encourage innovative cross-sectoral partnerships and that will improve the following areas of living:

  • CONSERVATION OF NATURE, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE;
  • QUALITY EDUCATION AND LIFELONG LEARNING;
  • RESPECT OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND REDUCTION OF INEQUALITY;
  • DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The Call for applications is open in the period March 17 – April 18, 2021.

HOW TO APPLY?

You can apply exclusively through the online application platform located on the Tuzla Community Foundation’s website. If you are applying for the first time, we recommend to first read the instructions.

Once the online application is accepted the applicant will receive a confirmation via mail. After reviewing the project proposal by the grant team, the applicant will receive an e-mail confirmation of receipt (PDF document of the completed application), which you must submit within 7 days, signed and stamped in two hard copies, to the address of the Foundation: Pozorišna 13, 75000 Tuzla (in person or by mail).

In addition to the completed application form (via the online module), formally registered organizations are required to submit the following additional documentation:

  • Decision on registration (copy),
  • Statute (copy),
  • Financial report for the previous year (balance sheet and income statement-copy),
  • Proof of open bank account (copy), and
  • Statement of partnership, in the case of partnership projects.

Financial support for youth projects will not be awarded to projects that are incomplete, as well as those that are sent after the deadline or are not submitted in the previously described way, as well as those that submit applications forms not provided in the Call.

CONDITIONS FOR AWARDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Prior to the award of the grant, applicants are required to allow the Foundation’s grant team to evaluate the work and operations of the organization in the previous period. This assessment involves an analysis of the organizational, financial, administrative and human resources of the project applicant. Only organizations that meet the assessment process can receive financial support.

Informal groups that receive support for their project will implement activities so that all payments for costs incurred during the project will be paid directly by the Foundation, and the duty of the informal group is to prepare estimates and submit them to the Foundation.                                                                        

After the final selection of projects and the publication of the results on the website of the Foundation, the deadline for appeals will be open for 7 working days. All applicants who are not satisfied with their position on the ranking list of approved grants have the right to appeal. The complaint will be resolved shortly by the Foundation’s management.
