“There is tension among young people of different nationalities in our city” is the name of the problem that is being solved by a team of young people from Busovača. They are “Youth for an A”: Delila Osmančević, Lamija Muminović, Mirza Kermo and Ana Kriško. After participating in the 4th eUPSHIFT workshop, during June, this team realized a six-day camp for their peers from Busovača and its neighboring local communities.
The “Week for you(th)” camp included activities such as hiking, youth workshops, movie nights and treasure hunts. About 20 young people attended the camp and had fun through socializing and learning together, but also got to know each other better and built friendships.
“It’s the first time I’ve been to something like this, to a workshop. It’s great that we hang out and that everyone can say what they think. I like this project. I would like to get involved in something similar again in the future!”, said one of the participants of the camp in Busovača during the workshop led by Delila and Lamija. Participants then devised a recipe for a happy local community, whose ingredients are: education, interest in work, happiness, liberalism, active young people, government support, understanding, generational cooperation and space for youth work.
The initiative of the Team “Youth for an A” was selflessly supported by the Municipality of Busovača and the ABF Busovača Education Center, giving young people space to realize their activities and offering encouragement for future ideas that they will have. The initiative of the Team “Youth for an A” in Busovača is supported through the UPSHIFT program, implemented by the Humanitarian Organization “Genesis Project” in partnership with UNICEF in BiH, and with the support of the Kingdom of Sweden. eUPSHIFT aims to help young people to implement their ideas and improving local communities.
