Tourists from all over the world visit Trebević, Vrelo Bosne, Bijambare, Skakavac, Bentbaša…

The protected natural areas of Sarajevo Canton – Trebević, Vrelo Bosne, Bijambare, Skakavac, Bentbaša record a large number of visits by tourists and guests from all over the world, because they provide exceptional conditions for a full day’s stay in nature, they are ideal for hiking, cycling, running or simply for a walk in beautiful and unique ambience.

According to data from the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, 143,385 tourists and guests visited “Vrelo Bosne” in the first six months of this year, while 124,125 visitors were recorded in the same period last year, which represents an increase of 19,260 or 15.5 percent. Of that number, 62 percent of visitors were foreign tourists.

Bijambare was visited by 27,518 tourists in six months this year, and 20,440 in the same period last year, which represents a significant increase in the number of guests in that area as well.

According to the director of KJU Protected Areas, Asad Jelešković, this season will be record-breaking, especially during July and August, and “there are visitors from all parts of the world”.

In his statement to Feni, Jelešković said that out of season, protected areas are mostly visited by tourists from the region, and during the summer, tourists from Arab countries dominate.

Thanks to cooperation with travel agencies and schools, visits are organized as well as routine, individual, family.

– In our areas it is not cramped, in that harmony there is room for everyone. It is interesting that this year we are recording a large number of organized visits by tourists from Turkey – he says.

In order to make visits to protected areas even better, KJU for protected natural areas constantly invests in infrastructure that blends discreetly with the landscape. Nature supervisors constantly monitor the areas and make sure that there is no disturbance of natural processes or illegal activities.

The spaces are regularly maintained, and at the same time, the mosaic of activities and offers for visitors is getting richer and more colorful.

Jelešković reminded that they also invested in the stocking of watercourses in the area of ​​the Vrelo Bosne Nature Monument with 1,500 brook trout.

He announced that there will be new contents by the end of the year, such as the construction of a cave museum in Bijabaram.
