Today is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. This is the day when we try to point out the seriousness of the situation in which victims of human trafficking find themselves.
The member states of the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/68/192 in 2013 and declared 30 July World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
On this important date, the Association for Education and Development “Dignitet” from Mostar is launching a helpline.
The helpline number is 061 422 447, the same number will be available via Viber and WhatsApp as well. The helpline will be available to citizens from 08:00 to 20:00 hrs.
Advisory, pedagogical, psychological and legal assistance will be provided to all interested citizens.
In order to reduce the number of child abuse, the Association “Dignitet” with the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science is implementing a project called “Growing up in a safe environment.” The project aims to make a social contribution in the fight against child and youth abuse. Part of the project activities will be aimed at raising awareness among the general public about the importance of reporting cases of child abuse.
By the end of 2021, 350 children and young people will be directly involved in the prevention and education program.
Within the project, a research will be conducted on the basis of which data on the most present types of child abuse in BH society will be obtained. Children, young people and the general public will be informed about the phenomenon, risks and ways to protect themselves from online abuse and child trafficking. The campaign, which will be implemented continuously, aims to encourage citizens to social responsibility and the constant fight against violence, and a helpline will be promoted through all implemented activities.
