Mayor of Novo Sarajevo dr. Hasan Tanović donated ninety laptops and eight PCs to primary schools in Novo Sarajevo.
Computer equipment was delivered to the principals of eight primary schools (Grbavica I, Grbavica II, Kovačići, Hrasno, Malta, Čengić Vila I, Pofalići and Velešićki heroji), then to the Primary Music and Ballet School Novo Sarajevo, and to the Center for Education and Rehabilitation “Vladimir Nazor”.
Based on the needs of schools due to the lack or bad condition of technical equipment used during online classes during the coronavirus pandemic. Schools were provided with ten laptops, while the elementary school “Čengić Vila I” purchased eight PCs.
Mayor Tanović pointed out that it is necessary to change the narrative in terms of constantly thanking the mayor for everything that is done for the well-being of citizens and children.
– We mayors are not the owners of the municipality, nor is the money we have in our budgets. These are the funds of citizens, and we are here, together with the municipal councils, to direct the funds where they are most needed, said the mayor, adding that the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will continue to implement projects that are of interest to our youngest citizens.
The director of the elementary school “Velešićki heroji” Kenan Trebinjac pointed out that this is the first time that school principals were consulted on the needs of schools for the teaching process and that the said equipment is actually purchased.
– This is one of the most important donations we received, bearing in mind that our budgets have been significantly reduced, and that the new school year is starting soon, said Kenan Trebinjac.
The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo has allocated around 70,000 BAM for the procurement of the previously mentioned equipment.
