The Municipality of Centar donated 10,000 KM for humanitarian aid to Gaza

The head of the Municipality of Centar, Srđan Mandić, today hosted the director of the representative office of the international humanitarian organization “Islamic Relief Bosnia and Herzegovina”, Emir Čiča, and handed him a conclusion on the allocation of financial resources in the amount of 10,000 KM from the current budget reserve of the Municipality of Centar for humanitarian aid to the victims of Gaza.

Namely, the international humanitarian organization “Islamic Relief Bosnia and Herzegovina” launched a humanitarian campaign to collect aid for the victims in Gaza – Palestine, and one of the addresses to which they sent their appeal is the Municipality of Centar.

– All people, especially those of us who survived the horrors of war during the multi-year siege of our city and the suffering of innocent civilians, must understand the suffering of the residents of Gaza and other parts of Palestine, who are facing the most severe humanitarian crisis so far. I use the opportunity to invite other institutions as well as all citizens to join the humanitarian action and show solidarity in order to help alleviate the suffering of the innocent residents of Gaza and other parts of Palestine. The Municipality of Centar will continue to help and participate in humanitarian actions, Mandic said during today’s meeting.

The competent Finance Department of the Municipality of Centar will transfer the approved funds to the account of the Humanitarian Organization “Islamic Reliefworldwide” Sarajevo, which will try to deliver the necessary aid to vulnerable civilians through its field offices in Gaza.

Director Čiča thanked the Municipality of Centar, which always responded to humanitarian actions, for this help.

The goal and mission of this association is to alleviate the suffering of the poor, help and support the population affected by the consequences of natural disasters, war and all other forms of destruction that have a negative impact on society. Today, this organization operates in more than 45 countries around the world. This year, through our representative offices in the world, we managed to collect 25 million in aid for Gaza. We have addressed other institutions with this appeal for help to the population of Gaza, but unfortunately the response is not great, said Čiča.

The international humanitarian organization “Islamic Reliefworldwide” was founded in 1984 in Birmingham, England, as the first and largest Islamic international organization in the world. It has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1992, and in Gaza since 1997, where they have offices that directly provide assistance to the vulnerable population.

Today’s reception was also attended by the assistant chief for veterans-disabled and social protection Amra Hašimbegović Vučković, as well as associates from the aforementioned service.
