Urbanization is a key global trend according to the New Urban Agenda, and by 2030, more than 5 billion people are expected to live in urban areas. Cities, although occupying only 3% of the Earth’s surface, have a huge impact on the environment, consuming 80% of energy and contributing 70% of global carbon emissions.

In this lecture, we will dive deeper into innovative concepts such as a city accessible within 15 minutes and many other advanced approaches to sustainable urban living. We will explore how urban politicians are tackling key issues such as transport, housing and climate resilience, exploring creative policy solutions.
