The Coordinating Board of the HNK/HNŽ trade union was established in Mostar

Yesterday, 30.07.2024. year, the founding meeting of the Coordinating Board of the HNK/HNŽ trade union was held in Mostar.

13 trade unions from the area of ​​Herzegovina-Neretva County/Canton signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, the purpose of which is to connect and cooperate with trade unions in the area of ​​the Canton/County. The goal is to protect workers’ rights through better and more efficient collective bargaining, amendments, amendments and better implementation of relevant laws, strengthening the position of existing unions, encouraging and supporting the formation of new unions in the private sector, building solidarity between unions and workers, and increasing media attention and public support for protection of the rights of workers and trade unions.

In Mostar, the trade unions agreed on the exchange of information through all available means of information and periodic meetings, cooperation and support for the activities of members of the Union Coordination Committee, joint representation and presentation of activities in relation to employers, authorities and the public, presentations in the media, support and assistance for the initiatives of disenfranchised workers. and openness to cooperation with other trade unions, coordinations and associations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his opening address, Dalibor Vuković, president of the Independent Trade Union of Health Workers ZZJZ HNŽ, member of the negotiating team of SKB Mostar and elected head of the Coordination, pointed out that the unions gathered in the Coordination represent an incomparably greater force than the unions that act individually towards employers and the public.

He emphasized that they will agree, perform together and help each other in order to work on improving the rights of workers and trade unions. The coordination will provide all possible help to everyone who needs it, especially regarding the negotiation procedure with the aim of building partnership relations with the Government and signing the highest quality collective agreements. Anything that can be resolved legally is the best way, including questions about whether a strike is legal or illegal.

We invite other unions from HNK/HNŽ to join the Coordination. We invite workers from the private sector to be encouraged and start the process of establishing a union with the support of members of the Coordination and CGS!
