Continuing the good practice from 2022 and 2023, the City of Konjic also provided support to young people in 2024 in resolving housing issues through the refund of taxes paid on the purchase of their first property.
Through a public call for applications for the right to a refund of part of the paid real estate tax from the Budget of the City of Konjic in 2024, 42 beneficiaries were supported, with whom contracts were signed these days.
The public call includes young people aged 18 to 40 residing in the Konjic area, who are solving their housing issue for the first time by purchasing an apartment or house in the city of Konjic.
– For the measures we created based on the needs of young people, which we arrived at through discussions with them, there is greater interest every year. In 2022, 36 young Konji residents were supported, in 2023, 37, and in 2024, 42 Konji residents, who decided to buy an apartment or house, and therefore to live in their city and homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the goal these and other activities with which we provide support to young people. Aware of the importance of supporting young people during education, when starting small businesses, starting a family, solving the housing issue, the City Administration of Konjic strives to continuously expand existing programs and create new ones, which to our satisfaction gives results and makes us proud, because we are one of the few local communities that has a whole set of measures that young people use – said the mayor of Konjic, Osman Ćatić, during the signing of the contract, wishing all users good luck and a pleasant life in their homes.
Aldin Boloban, one of the young people from Konji who recently bought an apartment in the Varda neighborhood, said that when solving the housing issue, any help comes in handy.
– The tax refund on the first property in the amount of 2,000 KM means a lot to me, but also to other users, and we are certainly grateful to the Konjic City Administration, led by the mayor, who are trying to make it easier for us in this important period of our lives – said Boloban.
Happy that her family managed to solve their housing issue in 2024 by purchasing an apartment in the Kolonija settlement, Nadija Vrtić from Konjic took this opportunity to thank the City of Konjic for the opportunity to receive a refund of the tax paid for the apartment through a public call for young people, the City of Konjic announced.
