Work on the completion of the Počitelj – Zvirovići section of the Herzegovina highway, which also includes the Počitelj bridge, will be completed by the beginning of the summer season, it was confirmed for Klix.ba.
Although the official opening of this section was planned for May 1, numerous factors influenced that date to be moved, so the part of the Herzegovinian highway will be opened until the beginning of the summer season, which was confirmed by JP Autocesta of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“After the successfully completed works on the elimination of defects on the Počitelj bridge, the final construction works are underway, which includes the installation of waterproofing, safety fencing and asphalt”, they told us from JP Autoceste FBiH.
Along with these works, the procedure of technical acceptance and obtaining a use permit is also underway so that the highway can be immediately opened to traffic.
“We emphasize once again that for JP Autoceste FBiH as an investor, the most important thing is the safe traffic of vehicles over the Počitelj bridge, and that after the technical acceptance we will take over the project with exclusively correct and high-quality work performed in accordance with all the rules of the profession”, concluded JP Autoceste FBiH.
The construction of the subdivision Počitelj – Zvirovići is financed from the funds secured under the loan agreement concluded with the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of 100 million euros and by grants from the European Union in the amount of five million euros.
The subdivision is 11.7 kilometers long, and work began at the end of 2019 and the deadline for construction was 30 months, but due to numerous circumstances, it was broken through on several occasions.
