Signed tripartite contracts for economic empowerment through greenhouse production

Today in Zenica, a tripartite agreement was signed between the City of Zenica, the NGO “Muslim Aid Association” from Sarajevo and 40 end users, in accordance with the Agreement signed by the city with the aforementioned NGO.

This Agreement aims at the economic empowerment of socially and materially disadvantaged persons and young people through greenhouse production. Also, education in the field of greenhouse production was held for selected users.

“Earlier, due to the pronounced problem of pollution, we started this program. Several hundred greenhouses have been allocated. Today we are signing contracts for 40 new greenhouses, with all the accompanying equipment and planting material for socially and materially disadvantaged and young people. The total value of the project is 170,000.00 KM”, said Mayor Kasumović.

With this project, the City of Zenica continues to support the continuous development of greenhouse production, as well as help socially disadvantaged categories of the population.

In the period from 2017 to 2023, 4.5 million KM was realized through incentive funds in agriculture, while 920,000.00 KM is planned for this year.

At the end of this year, during the mandate of the current Mayor, about 5.5 million KM will be realized to support primary agricultural production. Currently, Zenica has 26,000.00 m2 of greenhouse production, and today’s signing of the contract for an additional 4,000 m2 brings the total to 30,000 m2, which is significant data for an industrial city like Zenica.

Also, in 2023, the production of 2.48 million liters of cow’s milk was supported through incentives.
