Sewer Pipe Festival

The Vrbas River Sewer Pipe Festival in Banja Luka aims to launch a broad public debate on the problem of Vrbas river pollution, to raise awareness of the importance of this topic, to join various initiatives to start building a wastewater treatment system, and to put public pressure on decision makers in the direction of environmental protection and sustainable development. The festival program includes urban walks, dajak boat rides, an exhibition of student projects and a panel discussion. An important part of the festival is the student workshop.

According to the model of the small SCALE project, students will map sewage discharges into the Vrbas River in a narrow urban area (between the Zeleni and Rebrovački bridges), and then work with mentors on preparing an info leaflet on the topic, on urban design for selected locations on the Vrbas coast and the realization of one spatial installation.

Applications for the workshop are open until August 29. Please send your applications via email to: icprostor@gmail.com. The project is supported by the Embassy of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy of the University of Banja Luka and other partners.
