In the House of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, on March 5, 2024, a solemn ceremony was held to award the award “The Most Desirable Employer in BiH for 2023”, which has been organized by the company Kolektiv doo (MojPosao.ba) for seventeen years. And this year, the project, which is of exceptional importance for the business community of BiH, recorded a large number of guests, representatives of leading companies, international organizations, as well as representatives of the political and business community of BiH.
The recognition was preceded by an extensive survey through the MojPosao.ba portal , where citizens had the opportunity to vote for employers who, in their opinion, deserve the title of the most desirable.
According to the opinion of the BiH public, the Most Desirable Employer in BiH for 2023 is dm drogerie markt doo, thus winning this prestigious title for the tenth time.

Selected most desirable employers in 17 sectors
In addition to voting for the TOP 10 employers, research participants could also vote for the most desirable employers in as many as 17 different sectors, as well as for Family-Friendly and Most Inclusive Employer.
The most preferred employer in the Media sector is Al Jazeera Balkans, while the most preferred employer in the Marketing and PR sector is Altermedia. Teleperformance BH takes first place as the most desirable employer in the BPO sector, while Transcom WorldWide doo Tuzla and CCC doo Sarajevo were chosen as TOP 3 companies in this sector.
The company Meggle BiH was chosen among the most desirable employers in the Food sector. In the Retail sector, the companies dm drogerie markt and JYSK were chosen as TOP 3 companies, while in the Oil and Gas sector there are also the companies HIFA PETROL doo Sarajevo and HOLDINA. In the Fashion & Retail sector, the company Deichmann was chosen among the TOP 3 most desirable employers.
In the sector of telecommunications and other information services, the most preferred employer is Telemach doo, while the company BS Telecom Solutions was chosen among the TOP 3 companies in this sector. In the FMCG sector, the most preferred employer is Coca-Cola HBC BH, while in the Pharmaceutical sector, the company Pharmamed doo was among the TOP 3. The most preferred employer in the Distribution sector is the company NELT, while the company ORBICO was also selected among the TOP 3. Among the most desirable employers in the financial sector, NLB Banka dd Sarajevo was chosen, while the company GS – TMT doo Travnik was in the TOP 3 in the production sector.
The most inclusive and Family-Friendly employer
According to the opinion of the BiH public, the most inclusive employer in BiH for the year 2023 is the company NELT. The most inclusive employer is a company that promotes and works daily to improve human rights, and is committed to equal treatment of all employees and candidates for vacant positions, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability or other characteristic that makes a person classified as a marginalized group of the population.

Flexibility and raises – key factors in choosing an employer in 2023.
In addition to the earlier generally known most important factors such as: good attitude towards employees, positive working environment and security of job retention, which influence the selection of the most desirable employer, this year among the most important factors were also highlighted flexible working hours for parents and other employees who take care of family members, as well as the possibility of a salary increase. The respondents showed that it is extremely important for them that the workplace provides a good balance between work and private life.
About research
In the two-month survey, this year over 500 companies were nominated and received over 230,000 votes. The research was conducted through an online survey on the MojPosao.ba portal .
As for the structure of the respondents, the majority of people between the ages of 30 and 34 participated in the research. The largest number of respondents, 78% of them, are employed. When it comes to the way in which they got to know the work of the company they voted for, the most 63% of them answered through employees of that company, and 11% through social networks.
The following reasons are primarily given for the decision to change companies: low salary, bad atmosphere among work colleagues, bad attitude of the employer towards the employees, excessive workload, lack of feedback for work performance.
The benefits expected from the future employer are: flexible working hours, additional days off, socializing and trips organized by the company, working from home, and additional paid health examinations.
According to this research, the most attractive sectors for work are: Retail, Distribution, Production, Oil and gas.
The “Most Desirable Employer” recognition enables the company to position itself in the minds of job seekers as a place where they would like to work and progress, and contributes to strengthening the attractiveness of the company and the value of its brand from the perspective of the public and its future employees. For existing employees, this recognition gives confirmation that they work in the most desirable place on the labor market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which contributes to their general satisfaction, increased productivity and motivation at the workplace.
