During the New Year holidays, from December 29 to January 2, according to statistical data from the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton, we recorded a 10 percent increase in the number of arrivals and eight percent in the number of overnight stays compared to the same period the year before.
Based on hotel reservations, whose occupancy was more than 97 percent, most guests were from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Turkey and China.

According to statistics, in the period from December 29th to January 5th, Sarajevo was visited by 30 percent more tourists and nearly 23 percent more overnight stays were recorded compared to the same period the year before.
Since Sarajevo had the longest New Year’s celebration, with five nights of free outdoor concerts , we also recorded a longer stay of tourists, which amounted to 2.2 days, and with this richer offer we have made a step forward in extending the stay of tourists.
