In the period from December 26 – 31, 2021 children and adults enjoyed in the Kick’s New Year’s spirit and a diverse and rich program. The children’s program attracted about 400 children who enjoyed New Year’s jewelry making workshops; learned more about winter and creating winter clothes; competed in games of precision and dexterity; danced; invited Santa Claus and hung out with him; read Andersen’s fairy tales, the tales of the Grimm Brothers and others; brought the characters of fairy tales to life by talking and drawing and enjoying hot chocolate drinks and gifts.
The sounds of rock and sevdalinka performed by the bands “Kick band” and “Stare note” every night attended at least 20 and at most 50 people, a total of between 130 – 150 people, including about 60% young people.
95 New Year’s gifts were distributed, including gifts for children (about 12%) from socially vulnerable families.
The entire organization was designed and led by the Association Alternative Kakanj, which has a twenty-four-year tradition (most experience in the city) of organizing New Year’s gift giving with Santa Claus. For three years now, Alternative has been relying on young people from Kick (Creative Innovation Center Kakanj), which operates within this Association.
Regarding the promotion of content, the program was published on the Kick’s FB page and in the FB group of the NGO Alternative Kakanj. No expensive posters, billboards or advertisements through the media and no organized bringing of children from school. The program and reports on several contents were downloaded and published on the FB page of the Municipality.
Local Radio Kakanj recognized the quality of the content and organized a live broadcast from Kick.
Relying on their own strength
The entire program relies on its own – local forces. “Kick Band” and “Stare note” played live. Hall decoration, gigs, serving, planning and conducting programs based on 14 high school volunteers: Lamija Đokić, Nejra Begovac, Hana Talić, Hana Kulović, Ajna Muftić, Aldijana Smolo, Nirvan Hadrović, Ishak Sikira, Ibrahim Obralija, Aldin Muvrija, Nedim Hasagić, Mirza Neimarlija and Đan Imamović.
