Residents of Stolac asked for the urgent reaction of the Civil Protection Administration in order to prevent the danger of new rock falls.
In an open letter sent to the Civil Protection Administration of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Federal Civil Protection Administration, the residents of Stolac remind that the town is located in a valley surrounded by hills. Since Friday, the residents are afraid of new earthquakes.
They called on the authorities to go out into the field, do an analysis of the repair of damaged rocks, stones and sub-walls, and to set up nets or other types of protection.
Potentially dangerous locations are: Kukavac, Pogledje, Novo naselje, Uzinovici, Bokulja, Poplasici, Zagrad, Todorovici, Cuprija.
“We must not wait for a new victim. We must react urgently until it is too late. We are already late, we failed to save one young life. Let us try to never repeat this unfortunate case that left all the citizens of Stolac in shock, disbelief and grief“, reads the request of the residents of Stolac.
