At the suggestion of the Ministry of Transport of the Canton of Sarajevo, the Government of the Canton of Sarajevo today made a decision to extend the validity of contactless tickets for public transport to all pupils and students during the months when there are no school classes.
All pupils and students who have taken out their tickets for the school year 2023/2024. they will be able to use public transport for free during the holidays, because the validity of these tickets is extended until the beginning of the next school year.
KS Minister of Transport Adnan Šteta pointed out that in the earlier period, all the necessary discussions were held, the situation on the ground was analyzed, as well as the requests of parents, and in the end an agreement was reached with Gras and Centrotrans carriers for the benefit of pupils and students.
“Pupils and students will be able to use public transport for free even during the holidays, which, I believe, will mean a lot to them. We have brought great benefits to these two categories in the past period, and I am proud of the fact that we are restoring their trust in the quality of public transport. We are obliged to provide everything to young people so that they can succeed in everything they want” , concluded the Minister of Damage.
It was pointed out that Sarajevo can be distinguished in the region by the benefits it provides to users of public transport, both with the purchase of new vehicles, the construction of infrastructure, and benefits for certain categories.
We would like to remind you that the Ministry of Transport of KS made a decision earlier that all coupons are valid for both carriers, and free use of public transport is also available to pensioners with the lowest pension.
The KS Ministry of Transport states that there is still a lot of work ahead of them and that they will continue to work in the interest of all citizens of every part of the canton when it comes to improving public transport, the KS Press Service announced.
