Public call – support to local employment partnerships

Labor and Employment Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) published a public call for support for local employment partnerships. The public call was announced within the project “European Union Support to Local Partnerships for Employment – Phase II” (LEP II) funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

Muamer Bandić, Director of the Labor and Employment Agency of BiH, pointed out that support to local partnerships project is one of the quality innovative ideas on our labor market. “The goal of the project is aimed at improving the socio-economic situation and living conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In particular, the project will contribute to increasing the share of local communities in formal employment, and will increase employability at the local level. The local partnerships that show the greatest value will receive the funds needed to practically implement their ideas,” said Bandić.

Bandić added that “expectations from the project are high because not only do local partnerships connect innovative entrepreneurs and local communities, but they also aim at employing more workers and the long-term sustainability of the project idea. In this way, the projects are for everyone, especially young people, who have knowledge, skills and ideas, and they lack the capital for implementation of those ideas. That is why one of the results of the project is the establishment of micro and small enterprises, which will certainly have a positive impact on economic activity in local communities.”

Based on our role in the domestic labor market, and cooperation with international institutions dealing with labor and labor markets, the Labor and Employment Agency of BiH will strive to support any quality idea that has ambition and ability to increase activity and employment in the labor market and create new jobs. The International Labor Organization’s project is heading in that direction and that is why we want to make this useful information visible to the general public“, said Muamer Bandić.
