In the City Administration of Zenica, an agreement was signed between the non-governmental organization Muslim Aid ASSOCIATION, the City of Zenica, the Association of Beekeepers “API-ZE” Zenica, the Association of Beekeepers “BČELA” Nemila and the Association of Beekeepers “EKO BČELA” Zenica on the implementation of the project “Beekeeping and Rural Development”.
The project will provide basic resources and skills to socially marginalized families living in rural areas, so that they can improve the quality of their own lives and, through the construction of infrastructure, economically empower the beekeepers’ association.
The project will be implemented in the period from March 2023 to November 2024.
“Through the project, seven start-up packages for direct users will be awarded. Start up packages consist of eight bee colonies and complete equipment for beekeeping. Project users will also receive education in this area through a beekeeping school that will last 6 months. In addition, the Association of Beekeepers will receive a line for the production of ecological watch bases made of wax,” said Mayor Fuad Kasumović.
The total value of the project is 107,310.00 KM, of which the City of Zenica will participate in the co-financing of the project with 55,300.00 KM, Muslim Aid with 47,110.00 KM, and the users with 4,900.00 KM.
