- Why do members of the diaspora often give up donating valuable medical equipment and aids intended for the needs of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina?
- Why is it easier for companies to donate construction materials in neighboring countries than in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina?
- Why is there no legal basis for donating confiscated clothes and shoes of counterfeit world brands, even though a large number of those who need these goods live in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
- Why is it “more worthwhile” to burn tons of food than to donate it to those who need it?
The answer to these and many other questions lies in the inadequate and complicated legal framework for philanthropy. After the successful consultative meetings with representatives from the public, private and civil sectors, where you shared many examples with us, we want to select priority areas together and improve the legal framework for philanthropy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We invite all interested representatives of public institutions, municipalities and cities, executive and legislative authorities, corporations, social enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, foundations, humanitarian organizations, associations and professional organizations, to participate in the first Philanthropic Conference on May 18, 2021.
When: May 18, 2021, 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Philanthropic platform
The conference will present an analysis of the legal framework governing the field of philanthropy and an analysis of perceptions of the institutional and legal framework, with prominent examples of obstacles to giving and receiving for the common good, which we have encountered in practice.
Together, we will choose the priorities that will be the basis of our advocacy activities with the aim of achieving positive legal changes in the field of philanthropy, and from which we will ALL BENEFIT.
Please register by clicking on the platform link. Persons who have previously registered on the platform, please fill in information about you by editing your profile (name and surname, sector, institution/company/organization, photo). Everyone who registers will receive a detailed agenda before the conference.
The “Legal Framework for Philanthropy” program is funded by USAID and implemented by the Mozaik Foundation with partners (Hastor Foundation, Network for Building Peace, Pomozi.ba, Trag Foundation and Catalyst Foundation).
