IT Challenge, the largest IT competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina for high school students, is being organized again in Maglaj after a two-year break. The prize fund is 4,000 BAM, and high schools from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina can apply. The competition will be held on May 7, organized by the Public Institution Gymnasium Edhem Mulabdić Maglaj, and under the auspices of the Municipality of Maglaj and one of the largest IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, NSoft. This is the seventh edition of the competition, which has gathered hundreds of young IT professionals from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina since its first year. Given the break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the organizers pointed out that they expect exceptional attendance this year and hope that the experience and knowledge that the competitors will bring will be useful for their future careers and education. In addition to the competition part, participants will have the opportunity to hear lectures by experienced developers, and thus gain direct insight into the work in the IT industry, which is known as the fastest growing industry in our country. Also, on the same day, there will be a lecture for teachers on the most important knowledge that students need to acquire during high school, which will facilitate their future learning and work in the IT industry. “Our goal is to gather in one place as many future IT geniuses and leaders of this sector in the future. Competitions of this type will help students and teachers in networking and exchanging knowledge and experiences, which can ultimately significantly contribute to the development of IT education in our country. In the past six editions, several hundred students from all over the country have participated in the competition, and we want to continue at the same pace,” said the organizers. The competition and accompanying lectures will be an all-day event on May 7 this year. More information and registration form for your team is available at this link.
