NGO 3P held a press conference on Tuesday, April 6, on the implementation of the project “Our waste – our obligation” which is implemented within the UNDP Accelerator Lab Innovation Challenge “Čisto da se zna” in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and supported by City of Zenica.
The project aims to develop awareness of responsible waste management through promotion, education and concrete practical workshops and eco-actions in five local communities in Zenica, and the development of an innovative web platform for illegal landfills mapping in the city of Zenica.
Based on a detailed analysis of the survey they conducted, the NGO 3P developed and presented the first web platform for illegal landfills mapping in Zenica titled depotag.ba, which is available to all citizens. In addition, it will be educational in nature, which aims to contribute to improving the environmental awareness of local people that waste can be used and thus start changes from themselves to change others, which is one of the goals of the project. A mobile application for android devices will soon be available as well.
The project will be followed by eco workshops and education on how to use waste, and practical eco-actions in five local communities where the most active communities will have the opportunity to get free landscaping/renovation of a local park or school yard.
The project idea of the NGO 3P from Zenica is one of five selected in the whole of BiH by the UNDP Accelerator Lab in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at the same time the only organization from Zenica-Doboj Canton. The project was supported by the City of Zenica. The HX company from Zenica created the web platform.
