On Saturday 30 November 2024. PK “Novi Grad” organized the XIV International Swimming Meeting “Cup Novi Grad 2024”. Swimming was held at the Otoka Olympic pool in Sarajevo. 492 male and female swimmers from 30 clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania took part.

The Velež Swimming Club participated with 11 swimmers: Sergej Ðurić, Danis Kadrić, Nejla Ćerimagić, Melina Mujić, Nejra Bešo, Ema Penava, Anastasia Krestenchuk, Amila Crnalić, Emina Ćerimagić, Merjem Tucaković and Lamija Bešo. In a very strong competition, we returned to Mostar with 4 medals, one silver and three bronze medals.

Amila Crnalić crowned her efforts in training with two medals. She won second place and a silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke, while she won a bronze medal in the 100-meter breaststroke.

Nejla Ćerimagić won two bronze medals for the 50 and 100 meter dolphin.

“The Velež swimmers had several placements among the top four, so with a bit of sporting luck, the total number of medals could have been higher. All other swimmers improved their best times. By the end of the year, we are planning two competitions in the month of December, and that would be the end of this calendar year”, said PK Velež.
