Mentoring and partnership are steps forward to empowering non-governmental organizations

Today, the Institute for Youth Development KULT hosted representatives of the Association “Prijateljica” from Tuzla, who came with enthusiasm and a desire to learn in order to exchange valuable experiences with our team and gain new knowledge that will enrich the work of their organization.

And this visit was a perfect example of how sharing experiences and support can take a step forward in the mission of empowering non-governmental organizations.

“I want to thank the whole team for the process that preceded our arrival. Today’s visit was very useful, I’m fascinated by the way everything is organized, how detailed everything is, and I’m thinking all the time how it is in our organization and what we can improve. The visit motivated me and gave me a closer insight into the work of our organization, and I can say that I am very proud of us considering our resources. It was great, we heard a lot of new things, the Institute follows new trends and definitely deserves the status of an organization that provides support to other organizations. You are very motivating and thank you for that ,” said Altaira Krvavac, director of the Association “Prijateljice” Tuzla.

“At the Institute, everything is arranged and everything has some order. There are much fewer of us and we function in our own way. As far as finances are concerned, I got some great info and I thank you for sharing the info. We will try to adopt some of today’s practices as well” , said Nedim Asćerić, financial administrator.

“This is very inspiring and motivating and I used the term “brain expansion” for this visit today. This motivates me a lot to make changes through the Strategy we received on strengthening organizational capacities and all these examples from today. Step by step, day by day, we will also grow” , said Vlasta Marković, coordinator of social centers.

The visit is part of the Institute’s Job shadowing program, the purpose of which is the transfer of knowledge and practical advice, crucial for the development and improvement of organizational capacities. The program is based on providing mentorship, advisory support and human resource empowerment, while at the same time promoting the importance of networking and creating new partnerships. Through these activities, the goal of the Institute is to enable organizations to improve their efficiency and achieve an even greater impact in society, which directly contributes to the strengthening of the civil sector.

Previous visitors have often emphasized how useful their time spent at the Institute was, stressing that these kinds of meetings and learning through practical examples are the foundation for the future development of their organizations. Through personal interaction, visitors have the opportunity to get to know first-hand the work procedures at the Institute, ask questions and seek advice that will help them improve the work of their organizations. During the visit, new ideas, possibilities and opportunities for further progress are often born.

The Job shadowing program is intended for all organizations that are involved in the process of developing organizational capacities, and that have an approved Plan or Strategy for strengthening those capacities. This program allows employees and key members of the organization’s team to get involved in the process of learning and acquiring new skills, which directly contributes to their professional growth.

The Institute for Youth Development KULT thanks today’s guests from the “Friends” Association for their visit and joint learning.

We look forward to continued cooperation and new opportunities to support the development of the civil sector, because only by working together can we achieve important and sustainable changes.
